Stay at the mill in the heart of the “Green Heart” of the Netherlands.

In a unique location in the middle of the Green Heart of the Netherlands, on the edge of Alphen aan den Rijn, overlooking the beautiful polder landscape and, of course, the charming 'Vrouwgeest' windmill, a luxurious, cosy and rural cottage has been welcoming guests since June 2013.

The Cottage

The holiday home and the adjoining house were built in a traditional style, in harmony with the mill and the surrounding polder landscape. The design is inspired by the old cowshed and barn that once stood on the same spot.

The Haystack House

The luxurious Hooiberg House, a black-tiled holiday home, is tastefully decorated in a cosy, rural style – a place to enjoy and relax. It is located in a unique setting near the Vrouwgeest windmill, where the living room offers panoramic views over the Vrouwgeest polder, where cows and sheep roam freely in the summer. The Hooiberg House is surrounded by a spacious patio and lawn.

Wonderful stay!

We came to see the tulip fields and absolutely loved it. This location was an easy 20-minute drive to Keukenhof. It was nice and quiet. There was a patio where you could relax and enjoy the views. Hans was very friendly and communicative and even arranged a last-minute tour of the windmill for us. Our kids loved the trampoline and the soccer play area. I highly recommend this location. Thank you Hans for such a wonderful stay.
